I think there are strokes of genius in 1999. Well, I’m mainly thinking of Mankind winning the WWF Title. But generally the period does suck. It’s really them cashing in off 1997, 1998 and them having the giant stars they do.

I’m fascinated by the reason 2000 managed to be such a financially viable year for them after quite a crappy ‘99.
I remember thinking 2001 post-Mania X7 was really vibrant in comparison to the previous years, just lots of colour popping.
