I don't think AEW's shortcomings are ignored like they aren't there inasmuch as the regular AEW viewers here are willing to give those things a pass because the show is overall enjoyable. I certainly have my gripes but it's nothing "gamebreaking" for me and hopefully remains that way.
I don't feel like my time is wasted watching AEW, and at the end of the day, with a litany of entertainment options available, we shouldn't watch shit that makes us feel like we're wasting time that could be spent on things we enjoy.

A lot of people say “AEW isn’t perfect” as a cover for their partisanship. “AEW isn’t perfect, I’ll be the first to admit that, BUT…” then comes the attack.
This place is getting fairer, it seems. The magic is wearing off. People realize “Eh, this is kind of the shits.” In my
opinion, I don’t think the calibrations are completely honest just yet. People are still willing this thing to be better than it actually is. They’ll tell themselves it’s entertaining. Criticism is becoming more commonplace though. Guys like xrod, Lock Jaw, XL, Fignuts, Maluco and even Mr. JL with his rare appearance lately deserve credit for that.
