ive watched him play for us this season so far and he doesnt need to hold off the defenders as he drifts inbetween attack and midfield. he is always looking for ball to feet and one two's. he was brilliant aginst palace with the way he was talking to the players around him, telling them where to go what to do etc (and not in a bad way) the way he is linking up with downing is looking very promising.
the free kick he scored was brillint, two steps and bang top corner, but before it was took he was distracting the defenders by telling viduka and southgate where to make runs so he could aim for them.
