Hey, WWE has actually done a pretty good job of building up some black stars on Raw. You’ve got Bobby Lashley, MVP, Big E, The New Day and Omos. Now, I think representation is important anyway, but I do wonder how those shows track with black viewers? Black kids? You know, versus Cody Rhodes and his white savior complex. I wonder who advertisers would rather appeal to? Hmm.

Raw is also a three-hour show, so Dynamite gets an average across two hours compared to a show that is always going to be lowered by their third hour because of the slot, which still performs better than most other things on cable, which is why it hasn’t been axed. And all three hours of Raw are ranked, so in essence, WWE had three of these bullshit slots locked up, whereas AEW only has one.

But yes, let’s keep comparing apples to pears and pushing this imaginary narrative of AEW catching Raw in terms of popularity or in their appeal to advertisers, which is the ONLY reason ratings matter.

WWE is PG, its audience is larger — domestically and globally — and its audience is probably a little more diverse than the fat white crowds you see at Dynamite anyway. But let’s not talk about the actual demographics of the fan-base. Let’s pretend that 18-49 still matters when it comes to CABLE TELEVISION in 2021.
How come AEW never talks about the 18-34 demo, and only the 18-49 demo? Maybe Raw beats AEW in the 18-34 demo, which seems to go against that theory of AEW drawing a younger audience maybe???
