Let me elaborate: a number of years ago, while these two were toiling in the undercard, they kept having these amazing yet throwaway classic matches that they honestly had zero right to have. I distinctly remember calling them "each other's Flair and Steamboat". They weren't even feuding. It was legit good shit with no impersonation of Vince in saying that. Absolutely magical stuff. With proper build to present both Dolph and Kofi as actual fucking stars, this could have been a holy shit, WrestleMania level main event match in-the-making.

Instead, I'm just reminded about how the company has dropped the ball on them both, each in different ways... and those matches took place I believe between the time Dolph got that bullshit 90 minute world title reign, and before Randy Orton called Kofi "stupid".

They both deserved better, and this would have been that treatment bearing fruit. Instead, folks won't care nearly as much as they could have if these guys were historically handled better.
