MS soured stuff itself with its move away from XNA, and how they treated the indies. They went through almost the same hubris Sony did with the PS3, except worse. By the time the One was coming out, Sony had learned their lesson and MS were ready to make their own massive mistakes.

I don't think the sticks would have been a problem if you played Halo. Halo seemed to have a small deadzone in mind to allow for it. The games I would use to test a new controller were either Bioshock or Mass Effect. Looking at Shepard constantly crawling to the right.

I have always been close to getting a One, my brother has one, but the controller stick thing was unforgivable to me. I've owned pretty much any console you care to mention, and I've never had anything like the stick problems I had on 360, straight out of the box often. To hear they spent $100 million researching a new pad, which amounted to putting an actual D-Pad on it, and yet keeping the same dodgy analogue system prone to breaking, fuck it.
