I feel like this could the sleeper show of the weekend. GCW has such a buzz around them right now. It's crazy what Bret and crew have done in such a quick time. They basically beat up and took czw's lunch money.

3rd GCW show I've bought this year so they're doing something right.

I know the majority of their shows typically have some real ghoulish stuff in it but they're the most fun shows around now.

Feel like Sabu was a better choice than Haku anyway. GCW legitimately has a ECW vibe to it and that worked as a passing of the torch of sorts. Been a good show so far and it usually gets better after the intermission.

That was a very fun and entertaining event. Janela is really great at booking these special shows.

Goods show, really didn't think it picked up after intermission though. Matches weren't stinkers but just seemed average.

Just sunk in that NXT Takeover and Summerslam are this weekend. I also plan to watch the Impact/NGW Twitch show. Alot of wrestling this weekend, ROH has a PPV in the UK tomorrow as well but I'll pass on that for NASCAR and NXT.

Overall two thumbs up as an event. The most fun event I’ve been too for sure. From the start the crowd was ready to rock and roll so it was fitting that Wheatus opened the show. The performance was on point and the crowd ate it. As Webb entered I thought to myself “this is the closest I’ll get to a Sandman like entrance”... haha well on that later.
MJF vs Webb was the match of the night, so funny, a total blast. So many genius comedy bits, I loved it. Hart vs Dirty Daddy was really good. Teddy Hart is so so good. What a shame he didn’t make it in WWE. Segment with The Sandman, I marked out so hard. Sure Sandman sucks but I was in a very ECW like environment and got to experience that entrance live for the first time. To top that off Sabu faces Nick fucking Gage. It was fun, not “very good” but not bad. Intermission The ladder match was okay, nothing too exciting tbh except the end bumps which were really scary. Janella vs Hakushi was good, nothing spectacular but it was cool. Janella did old Hakushi sports I guess because Kushi wasn’t able to. Sick finish though with the top rope choke slam. PCO vs Riddle was really good. Very hard hitting and hard bumping. Destro’s appearance made it all the more fun. |
Damn, you are literally 10 minutes away from that place. Feel about the same on the show as you so it translated to TV well.

Interested to see how IMPACT dresses the place up for Bound for Glory but the venue does create a good atmosphere for a wrestling show.

Forgot to comment on Marco, that match was fun. It was interesting to me because he was just doing Teddy Hart spots from 10 years ago though. Also I hated the intergender match. It was flat (not the titties though) and unnecessary.
