Ol Dirty Dastard 07-11-2020 12:20 PM

All the pictures of her from her heyday she is pulling Awesome Kong faces, so it's kind of hard to prove her beauty in that regard.

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-11-2020 12:20 PM

Anyways, long story short, I'd let Bull Nakano peg while she adorned this specific getup:

Seems MLW has been recently gauging ESPN's interest in wrestling for a potential tv deal.

There's also been reports that MLW could be exploring a deal with ESPN, although nothing has yet to materialize. Still, Samael believes that an ESPN deal is still possible and wouldn't be surprised if it did come to reality.

“That wouldn’t surprise me. Especially with the way, like I said earlier, Court Bauer is always getting us TV clearances in so many different places with so many different companies. A real master in how he is able to work with so many different companies. Usually, people are signing exclusive deals, and he’s able to move in a way where we keep getting more and more eyes on us. And we’re definitely not limited to one company. ESPN would be fantastic. To be on that station, you know, being an older guy I grew up watching ESPN. When I was a young kid, I used to watch World Class [Championship] Wrestling on ESPN at 4 PM. And just to be on that channel would be really incredible," Samael said.

Considering she barely did anything of note in NXT, doubt her fortunes are going to change on the main roster.

Like her pairing with Aliyah was arguably the most notable thing she did in NXT and that got abruptly dropped after a while.

Pah! Add her to the list of “what’s the point?” recent call ups; Chelsea Green (yet to debut), Bianca Belair (working Main Event), and Shayna Baszler (MIA).

Apparently a rumor both started and got quickly debunk today of Cena's contract with WWE had quietly expired and WWE didn't even bother to put him on any sort of Legends deal.

The telltale sign of the rumor being fake was it being attributed to last week's Observer Newsletter that didn't mention anything about Cena's WWE contract expiring.

Emperor Smeat 07-15-2020 03:43 AM

Seems Kairi Sane recently made her decision regarding the future of her WWE and wrestling career.

Tokyo Sports reporting that Sane will be leaving WWE soon and returning to Japan to finish up her career before retiring.

That lines up with previous rumors of her wanting to retire by the end of next year and missing being around her husband due to him living in Japan.

drave 07-15-2020 07:54 AM

Good. Feel like she, as well as Shinsuke, have been wasted talent in the "E".

drave 07-15-2020 07:54 AM

What really happened is she worked with Nia Jax, and said "fuck that, I wanna live without a broken neck."

Evil Vito 07-15-2020 08:34 AM

While they haven't really capitalized on Nakamura, he also seems like he's been largely coasting through most of his main roster run aside from maybe his program with AJ.

He seems content to cash in the nice paycheck and not break himself. Tough to blame him.

drave 07-15-2020 08:40 AM

C'mon. He was white fucking hot, naturally, and they didn't want him to be so they changed things and that's when he just kinda was there....

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-15-2020 08:42 AM

that Nak wrestlemania match with AJ stank balls.

I mean it was "fine." But having seen their match in Japan and comparing it to mania, it was so disappointing. They didn't even get out of 1st gear.

Evil Vito 07-15-2020 08:48 AM

Yeah their Mania match nowhere lived up to what it should've been, and unfortunately I think it was by design since it was only the first of what was going to be a three PPV program (another WWE stupidity, Mania never feels like the endgame for anything anymore).....and also because it wasn't the main.

Of course whatever concerns WWE had about "burning out the crowd" were stupid because that match was like 5 hours into the show. The crowd was already burned. And they were deader than dead for the actual main.

Watching Lesnar and Reigns kick out of countless finishers to a silent and/or booing crowd felt like a bizarre human experiment.

drave 07-15-2020 09:17 AM

Its "WWE Style". I too, was fucking stoked at the possibility of another epic clash with those two only to be disappointed.

This is why I haven't routinely watched it in a very long time. if something comingup sounds like it can be good, I might check out a match or two. Keep the sub active for a family member.

drave 07-15-2020 09:18 AM

Other than his NXT time, he's def not done what he is capable of doing.

Rewatching Zayn v Nakamura now..... damnit

Jordan 07-15-2020 10:36 AM

I really hope Nakamura wants to move back to Japan at the end of his WWE deal. Even with his shoddy run he still has broken historical grounds in WWE (in black and white terms only) and a NJPW reunion would massive for their buisness.

Evil Vito 07-15-2020 10:56 AM

Pretty sure Nakamura already re-signed and he seems content living in Florida and surfing on his off-days.

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-15-2020 11:11 AM

Turns out the actual report from Tokyo Sports was just more rumors about Sane leaving WWE and the US. Last they heard is if she does leave, she likely will still be working for WWE in some capacity and currently isn't considering working for another promotion in Japan.

I wouldn't call it amazing work, but I don't blame the guy for coasting, given how rough his genuinely great work must have been on his body.

I mean, combine the work he was doing in NJ with a WWE schedule? Fuck that shit , man.

Fignuts 07-16-2020 01:10 AM

Would be nice if we got one or two more classic strong style Shinsuke matches before he gets too old to do it though, I'll say that.

Doesn't Nagata still do a strong style match here and there? How old is he?

Fignuts 07-16-2020 02:26 AM

To a point. He's older and more broken down so he's not pulling off anything that Shinsuke can do now, but he's a good enough wrestler that he can work around his limitations and still have a good hard hitting match.

Besides missing Bobby/Robert Roode in the picture who wouldn't count anyways, NXT hasn't had a homegrown talent win their top belt since Bo Dallas and that was back in 2013.

I know that Neville and Sami Zayn were known "names" (Neville less so) but I'd almost put them under "homegrown talent" because they weren't brought in like "this guy is a big deal! Love him!"

They were brought in, and built up (and not on the backs of their old names)

Yeah compared to others after them, Neville and Sami would be closer to the "homegrown" side of the scale than "pre-WWE established" for how their indie star status was handled.

Wasn't until around Kevin Owens or Finn Balor where NXT's mentality with pre-established talent started to shift more in the other direction for big pushes and focus.

Like of all the still frames from the match you could use, why would you use one that states the winner mere hours after the match took place? Did any logical thought cross this guy's mind before posting it.

It’s unfortunate, what this virus has done to the loveable “little guy” like NWA. But it can easily be resurrected when life gets back to normal. If not by Billy Corgan, then by someone else. Who wants to chip in?

I was a little upset.

Even if the coronavirus hadn't wrecked things, Corgan and Lagana teased before in interviews that the NWA desperately needed a tv deal signed in order to stay afloat for the long term.

Same thing probably would have happened to Impact had Corgan actually bought them since he only had enough money to cover the purchase and maybe its debt but very little for anything else.

Corgan might be able to sell it to the WWE at fire sale price, if they’re interested in...what does the NWA actually have? Not a knock or anything. What does Corgan actually own?

According to the Observer Newsletter, seems Extreme Rules is going to have at least 3 cinematic matches since the Bar Fight between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus is being taped prior to the event.

Every other match besides the Swamp Fight, Bar Fight, and Eyeball Pulling Fight will be live on Sunday.

Ugh, suffering through this for the one family member coming over to watch it live. Usually they watch it the next day on their own time. The "eyeball pulling fight" is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long while.

Re: NXT champions.

I’d say Ciampa and Gargano are “homegrown”, they weren’t known on the level of Samoa Joe, Balor, Nakamura, etc.

Emperor Smeat 07-17-2020 04:14 PM

Not sure I'd consider either as "homegrown" or else someone like Becky Lynch would also fit that criteria despite wrestling for around 10 years prior to her WWE debut. In terms of NXT Women champs, I'd consider Sasha Banks as homegrown since her pre-WWE career was very brief.

They did benefit a ton by being associated with NXT and WWE, especially considering Gargano and Ciampa were never meant to stick around in WWE as long as they did.

Originally, they were only meant to be brought in for the short term and to give something back to EVOLVE in terms of exposure when the partnership was signed. Their quick rise in popularity and the match they had in the 1st CWC ended up changing WWE's mind and making their stay permanent.

Nah, they were top echelon independent workers. Just like anyone who made their way into NXT after working a long time with ROH and Evolve.

I am going to watch NXT from last week and see how I like it. In the video package from Lee/Cole, I saw Lee's finisher and I think it was f'n awesome.

Thought of putting them on the list with Neville and Zayn, but then thought "nah" because they got to keep their names and play off of their previous popularity right off the bat..... granted, they didn't play off it to almost immediate success like others did, so they are still a bit different for sure.

Emperor Smeat 07-18-2020 02:53 PM

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson recently confirmed the rumors of them also having beef with Paul Heyman backstage prior to their WWE releases.

Besides Style, they also claimed Heyman kept lying about his big plans and promises for the group and also played a big role in their releases since he provided the list of RAW talent to Vince to get rid of.

Also both had some bad blood with Triple H over him also lying about things in order to get them to resign with WWE instead of leaving earlier for NJPW or AEW.

I think you can draw a distinction between “debuted in the crowd at Takeover/on Takeover/clearly brought in to be at the top of the card” (Nakamura/Joe/Balor/Roode/Drew/etc) and “brought in as a hand/to fill out the roster”. It’s well known that DIY weren’t pegged for greatness when they came in.
