Danny Electric 05-25-2005 02:01 PM

I think Crespo is out for tonight.

Karlsberg 05-25-2005 02:04 PM

By scum i am guessing you mean villa? all my family are from brum but i live in preston as i go to the university.

Just saw the images for our new ground god i hope the government lets us have a casino.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 02:06 PM

If Shevchenko gets a chance he'll put it away. That's the problem for Liverpool. Go to sleep and he'll hurt them. If they concede early, I don't fancy their chances.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 02:06 PM

Yeah I mean Villa. I'm from Walsall but I live in Oxford.
Where's the new ground going to be?

Karlsberg 05-25-2005 02:12 PM

2 miles from the city centre in saltley it will cost 200 million to build and we will be selling st andrews

soconnor 05-25-2005 02:13 PM

If we win tonight then we deserved it, if you're bitter because we're here and you're not get over it. Beating Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan is spectacular and deserving of European Champions. Come on you REDS. I am confident we can do it, we've gone too far now. Still an amazing achievement either way and I'll be proud.

Dazz 05-25-2005 02:27 PM

I agree Soconnor, and I am rooting for Liverpool as you do deserve it, and I have no reason to dislike Liverpool. Your manager and fans are great and other then Finnan and Kewell (and techinically Diouf) I like all your players.

jerichoholic169 05-25-2005 02:35 PM

i hope liverpool win as it'll be good for the english game and will stop every complaining about the top 3 being so far ahead of everyone else for a bit.

from a united fan's point of view though i hope milan get the win.

teams:

Liverpool: Dudek, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Traore, Luis Garcia, Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Riise, Kewell, Baros. Subs: Carson, Cisse, Smicer, Hamann, Josemi, Nunez, Biscan.

AC Milan: Dida, Cafu, Stam, Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka, Gattuso, Crespo, Shevchenko. Subs: Abbiati, Kaladze, Costacurta, Rui Costa, Tomasson, Dhorasoo, Serginho.

kind of ironic that crespo managed to not be good enough for chelsea first team yet hes the only chelsea player in the final of the champions league.

Ogen 05-25-2005 03:45 PM

Nice start :$

Ogen 05-25-2005 04:26 PM

jerichoholic169 05-25-2005 04:30 PM

geez liverpool are getting wasted.....3-0 at half time. if milan continue like this, it could get really embarassing.

soconnor 05-25-2005 04:32 PM

I have hope we'll make some sort of comeback. Don't be a fucking prick though. Aston Villa will never get in the Champions League final Ogen so eat shit. We deserve some respect for getting so far, but this is one is hard.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 04:33 PM

soconnor 05-25-2005 04:37 PM

Tell me about it, fuck

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 04:38 PM

Kaka, Adriano, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo are all going to be in the same team next year at the World Cup. How is that going to be stopped?

Wengerland 05-25-2005 04:45 PM

Class above, big difference in their performance than against PSV though, same with Liverpool's defending.

I'd get Cisse on for Traore, but it looks like Hamman is coming on as i type this.

It every Liverpool player isn't sucking Jerzey Dudek off then they should be, the double save in extra time and the two penalty saves were immense.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 07:22 PM

Dazz is the type of fan I love, he's loyal towards his team but knows when to support the English. I've never had a problem with Chelsea fans and I guess it's easy to love everyone when your team has won the cup. Sure you'll give us a ride next year. Was an excellent final, for me I couldn't enjoy it as much as I felt so anxious. Just so glad we did it. Now the seasons over, I need the rest. I was positive all the way and it paid off. Come on, Shevchenko played well. I would feel sorry for the lad, if he hadn't already scored a winning penalty in the final a couple of years back. He's such a superb footballer. Hope Chelsea don't get near him, they'd be unbeatable. Looks like we're going to see him at the World Cup next year, all being well.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-25-2005 07:42 PM

Indeed Sheva is the best striker in the world IMO mainly because of his consistency. You don't get voted Milan's best ever player for being sloppy.

RBF is the same too, he is the best football fan I know bar me  but it really annoys me when people are just bitter because their team didn't do what you lot did. Like I say there is no reason for teams not to like you, and I still cannot get over how when you were doing shit your fans were singing throughout the Spurs League Cup away game the Rafa Benitez song, my mate was there and said it's all the scousers sung. The fans truely deserved it, anyone thats not a United or Everton fan has to be jealous and bitter to not appreciate what you did tonight. I guess now they know the feeling you all had in '99.

I am guessing you are going to tomorrows parade.

And ECG, he was fucking appauling, his first half display resembled that of not even a top twenty striker, shit control, lacked anything creative, and other then an offside goal he was awful, I guess Dudek's double save from him was the only memorable thing Shev did. Fucking appauling, I cannot believe they took Crespo off, fucking twats, they should have left it how it was. And does that last comment of all being well mean if Ukraine get there, of if Chelsea don't kidnap him.

MMM, unless you wait for the official one, then go to www.micksevern.co.uk , that guy is the man, he charges like a fiver (this will be a tenner most likely as it will be two discs) but he divides it into chapters and its really well set out. He just records it off TV but the quality is around 9.5/10.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 07:46 PM

Kaka and Pirlo looked untouchable in the first half.

He played well. His movement in the first half was brilliant, Liverpool defenders were all over the place trying to keep up with him. His goal wasn't even offside. He was creating havoc.

"All being well" means if he doesn't get injured. He is big mates with Abramovich apparently, so he won't be murdered.

Dazz 05-25-2005 07:51 PM

I love Kaka, still gutted he couldn't get his work permit for us, he should be ours.

His movement was good, but when he got the ball he did shit all with it. I thought his goal was well offside. And yeah I forgot about his Abramovich link

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 07:53 PM

Dazz 05-25-2005 07:57 PM

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:00 PM

Haha yeah meant this :)

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:01 PM

Dazz I love you for having faith in us and supporting us. Same to Owen too.

Dazz 05-25-2005 08:03 PM

I supported you as much as you can support a team that isn't your own, some of my mates went too far though, I had Villa, ManYoo, Arsenal and Britsol City fans around me singing You'll never walk alone at the end. But one of them had just won £50 and the other won £100 so I can see why they were so happy.

soconnor 05-25-2005 08:05 PM

Exactly, they are definitley top class guys. I'd like to think I'd be so respectful is Chelsea or Portsmouth did the same. I think I would. I only have a problem with Manchester United but I know loads of class people who support them. It's a game at the end of the day, with millionaire foreigners running the show. But we love it. True fucking fans who support the club, buy the season tickets and shirts. Whether we get fifth or win the champions league. Through thick and thin. Class fans. Enough to shake hands and admit that life isn't so bad. We'll be back whatever happens, every club gets another chance. Been an excellent season, ups and downs. So many downs but the finale was more than I could have ever asked for. Love this thread, respect to you all.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 08:08 PM

I screamed like a rape victim when Liverpool's second went in, then when Xabi Alonso scored his. I love Xabi Alonso so much, he is a brilliant footballer.

The maniacs next door banged my wall and called me a "fucking asshole" or something ridiculous.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:11 PM

I loved seeing the fans sing 'You Never Walk Alone' before the second half started. They are true class.

However I'd like to give my fucking credit to Jersey Dudek who's had an up and down season, however his grobbelaar stunts was not only hillarious but amazing to. Know that Smicer, Baros and him might leave. They left a great impression though. Worked their hearts out.

AWWWWW, you big gay. I know what you mean though, I like the fact that most football fans get along with each no matter who they support, I don't really have a problem with any team to be honest. Like I said when you lot beat us Socconor, I shok hands with a scouser and wished them luckin the final, did the same after the first leg too, I am genuinely pleased that others get to feel the joy that I would love to feel.

I was saying over at Rajah's how fickle United fans are who say that they'd support United no matter how bad they were, and no matter how much success Glazers brings they wouldn't care, yet they all snub the lap of honour because they had a shit season. That's not fucking football fans at all, I hate people that leave early, that don't clap their team off the pitch, and that only show interest when they are doing good. United have had it good for so fucking long they can't deal with it now, Liverpool and Chelsea fans have had a pretty shit decade (well pretty much a shit century for us) so they appreciate it more. Football is about so much more then winning, its about supporting your team no matter what, winning is an added bonus. When you lot done us 1-0 at our gaff last year, my Liverpool supporting mate ran up to me the next day and unzipped my jacket whilst saying about 'I bet I know what shirt you don't have on under there' and was shocked I had my Chelsea one on, what a twat, I wear it the day of and the day after EVERY game, regardless of the result, regardless of how well or bad we played or anything else.

There is so much more to football then winning, there really is, I wish that all football fans realise that, but you see from teams attendances when they aren't doing so well that this isn't the case, and it upsets me.

Fucking hell I wrote alot more then I wanted to, I have an exam tomorrow I am supposed to be revising for.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:14 PM

:)

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:16 PM

Good luck with your exam mate.

Dazz 05-25-2005 08:18 PM

Thanks, I was gunna revise after the game, thinking it would be easy to do so, but after seeing such a brilliant game of football, I simply cannot be fucked, really is no point revising, I tried half hour ago but I cannot take anything in.

Rob Ban Fan 05-25-2005 08:20 PM

yeah Dazz, you're the man.

It was like after the West Brom game where they had stayed up and we were all just joining in singing together and I had random half naked West Brom fans shaking my hand and saying thanks and people were swapping shirts and scarfs with people they'd never met and probably would never see again.

I don't really have a problem with Southampton fans, for me the rivalry is just a bit of banter and I obviously want us to beat them but they're just fans who love their club as much as I love mine and feel the same when they win or lose as I do when Pompey do. (However i fucking hate that lying cunt Redknapp and want them to do badly until he fucks off when they can come back up and we can get on with our rivalry)

soconnor 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

You stupid fuck, your exams are more important than that. Sure you'll do fine though mate. You were so respectful and modest when you lost against us in the champions league it's hard not to like you as a fan. You still won the premier and Carling off us so you can smile. Hope your hairdressing course goes well. All the best lad.

Rob 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

1 - Congrats Liverpool. As soon as I saw Gerrard score, I knew they'd win it. Didn't think Riise would miss a penalty though. I take back what I said about them being undeserving champions because they deserved their win tonight.

2 - As a United fan, I am not gonna lie like others (I'm sure some are truthful). I didn't want Liverpool to win, nor am I happy they won. Fair play to them for winning it and I'm glad their supports get a great night like I did when we beat Bayern but I'd rather they lost still. Oh well.

3 - Harry Kewell is the biggest poof I have ever seen. Never in my life have I seen a player do so little to win a medal. Not just in the final, during the whole champions league. Absolute fucking tosspot. Smicer and Hamann showed him up to no end.

4 - Don't care what anyone says, Dudek meant that last save.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

No use revising if you ain't gonna take anything in.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 08:23 PM

The most surprising part about the whole thing is just how many, let's be honest here, quite rubbish players Liverpool have in that Champions League side. Traore, Smicer, Baros, Dudek to an extent. Dudek was amazing when he was at Feyenoord and for Liverpool until the Forlan incidents.

Jamie Carragher is ridiculously improved from the utility bit-part full back and midfielder, Phil Neville-style player, he used to be. Just cannot believe how superb he has been this season. He deserves as much credit as John Terry.

Now that Gerrard is going to stay, Liverpool have an excellent basis for a genuinely good side under a great manager. Gerrard and Alonso are potentially the best midfield in the world. Up front, I'm not convinced by Cisse yet, but Morientes is top class. Shift Baros and get someone else in. Sinama-Pongolle looks a great little player.

Looks like Reina is coming in the summer already, but apart from him they do with another centre-back, a full back and a centre forward. Maybe another wide player, and revert Riise to full back again.

Aimar seems to be a strong running rumour. Then Benitez could play his Valencia formation with Gerrard, Alonso and Aimar playing in midfield and one up front.

Anyway, it'd be good if they build on this to become a side challenging for the title.

I am so happy that Benitez is our manager.

yeah, during the match I was thinking that about Carragher and how a couple of season ago he was being kept out by Henchoz and occassionaly coming in to play at right or left back. He's had a very good season.

Yeah I agree we need another centre-back, fair play to Sami for all the work over the years he has given us. He's getting on a bit and we need someone there. I'd like another full back to but I think Riise has done great in that position.

I always get the feeling that when Cisse is on the pitch that something will happen. That injury came at the wrong time for him, I still think he'll be great.

Much respect you Rob. You're a great poster on the board but you're a man united fan so it was hard to connect with you. Glad you can admit we did deserve it because it was a fucking hectic ride. Know Man United will have a great shot at it next year. Now we can all relax and just enjoy it. Know Gerrard and Alonso are amazing, we need another solid centre back and a good left midfield. Also Cisse or Morientes needs to get into top form. A top class forward would be amazing. Shevchenko, you know you want to.

Gerrard, Carragher and Alonso were simply phenominal.

I think Djibril Cisse is another Guiv'arch. Mountains of goals in the French league, bit of a crap player. The joke about him last year was that his hairstyle added £6 million to his transfer fee: probably true.

Liverpool should take Diouf back. He's a cracking player. Bit of a cunt, but brilliant.
