Going back on all the branding stuff they've done, that explanation makes perfect sense.

It's so nice to hear from Vince in this way. Good stuff. What a man.

AEW is putting on great shows almost every week. WWE is putting together a pretty fun Road to Wrestlemania... Roman a clear cut best in the world right now and Lesnar right behind him, ROH in the hand of Tony Khan, tons of big name talent on the market, the Rock soon to launch a major sports league and John Cena putting out his best work ever for HBO and DC. Almost every wrestling library available for less than the cost of one DVD or VHS from 1999. This is really a hell of a time to be a wrestling fan.

Mr. Nerfect 03-05-2022 07:37 PM

The new stuff sucks. We’ll see how ROH goes. I don’t have high hopes.

It’s crazy how no one does that now. But I guess when you’ve got an industry built around people doing physical damage to their bodies on purpose for a rapidly shrinking audience, you’re not exactly dealing with the brightest minds humanity has.

Today’s wrestlers see everyone on the card do a tope con hilo and think “Me too!” They don’t think “Hey, maybe I should do something different and actually stand out?”

Real talk, the speed and smoothness in which Darby Allin hits a lot of his moves reminds me of Tiger Mask.

Like hes not as good, but its reminiscent.

Barbarian... not gonna say "underrated" but sure that's kinda what I'm saying. His presence alone, what a monster beastman. As a kid Barbarian was kind of generic to me, simply known as "Barbarian" wasn't really a main event gimmick to me. I found him boring in WWF generally but in WCW he has some cool brutal moments.

He's a guy that could've easily main evented against Hogan but got put in that mid-card spot and never got out of it. Not a bad thing, he got paid for a long time. But with his look, today, he's a fucking superstar.

Jordan 03-08-2022 09:53 AM

There is a match I remember him having with Bret Hart on one of the Coliseum Video tapes. I remember I watched it a lot as a kid and I always enjoyed that pairing, I think their styles worked really well together.

Jordan 03-08-2022 09:54 AM

If the Faces of Fear were around today they'd be the most over team in the world.

He's definitely underrated. I think people weren't that high on him due to being a lackluster World Title opponent for Simmons plus being in a team with Warlord kinda painted him into "muscle bound roid head who can't wrestle" that a lot of the guys from late 80s/early 90s got

I mean, how many guys his size were pulling off shit like this in the 1990 WWF or even in general

Dude I lived off that shit for like 6 years. I watched it all the time. SNL did a parody of it.

Full on opposite. It wont get me to watch despite that shit being free, but I love it. Good for him. He and Randy Orton and a few others should be fully focused on but WWE creative is a fucking mess.

True.

I haven't really enjoyed Ziggler since his stellar Intercontinental title feud with The Miz on Smackdown. That was quality storytelling.
