Wasn't until around Kevin Owens or Finn Balor where NXT's mentality with pre-established talent started to shift more in the other direction for big pushes and focus. |

Seems NWA's future is dire based on a recent rumor going around the net.
Supposedly Billy Corgan is planning to shut down the company due to serious financial issues caused by the coronavirus and the recent controversies against the company. |

It’s unfortunate, what this virus has done to the loveable “little guy” like NWA. But it can easily be resurrected when life gets back to normal. If not by Billy Corgan, then by someone else. Who wants to chip in?
|
I was a little upset.

Same thing probably would have happened to Impact had Corgan actually bought them since he only had enough money to cover the purchase and maybe its debt but very little for anything else. |
Corgan might be able to sell it to the WWE at fire sale price, if they’re interested in...what does the NWA actually have? Not a knock or anything. What does Corgan actually own?

According to the Observer Newsletter, seems Extreme Rules is going to have at least 3 cinematic matches since the Bar Fight between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus is being taped prior to the event.
Every other match besides the Swamp Fight, Bar Fight, and Eyeball Pulling Fight will be live on Sunday. |

Ugh, suffering through this for the one family member coming over to watch it live. Usually they watch it the next day on their own time. The "eyeball pulling fight" is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long while. |
Re: NXT champions.
I’d say Ciampa and Gargano are “homegrown”, they weren’t known on the level of Samoa Joe, Balor, Nakamura, etc. |
Not sure I'd consider either as "homegrown" or else someone like Becky Lynch would also fit that criteria despite wrestling for around 10 years prior to her WWE debut. In terms of NXT Women champs, I'd consider Sasha Banks as homegrown since her pre-WWE career was very brief.
They did benefit a ton by being associated with NXT and WWE, especially considering Gargano and Ciampa were never meant to stick around in WWE as long as they did. Originally, they were only meant to be brought in for the short term and to give something back to EVOLVE in terms of exposure when the partnership was signed. Their quick rise in popularity and the match they had in the 1st CWC ended up changing WWE's mind and making their stay permanent. |

I am going to watch NXT from last week and see how I like it. In the video package from Lee/Cole, I saw Lee's finisher and I think it was f'n awesome.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson recently confirmed the rumors of them also having beef with Paul Heyman backstage prior to their WWE releases.
Besides Style, they also claimed Heyman kept lying about his big plans and promises for the group and also played a big role in their releases since he provided the list of RAW talent to Vince to get rid of. Also both had some bad blood with Triple H over him also lying about things in order to get them to resign with WWE instead of leaving earlier for NJPW or AEW. |

But they were still brought in on their old names and presented as "check out these slightly popular names". They just weren't "check out these more popular names they are the best, love them immediately".

Homegrown talent has always meant one thing. I’m not sure why it’s suddenly up for debate.
If people like Zayn, Neville, and Ciampa are homegrown nxt talent, then Jericho, Eddie, and Benoit were homegrown WCW talent. Except they’re not. Because that’s not what homegrown means. |

With the help of my Mom and Grandpa, I made that dream my reality. At 23 years old, my priority was me and only me. I lived the life that the old timers told me about and life on the road was everything I thought it would be at first. As the years went on my career evolved and so did I. I became a man, a husband and a father. Year after year, loss after loss my time in the ring became less and less fulfilling and my time at home became more and more precious but there was never a healthy balance between the two. Leaving WWE may have not been on my terms, but moving forward the choices I make regarding my career and my life will be ONLY on my terms. Over the last 14 years, I lost the man I thought I was... but Thank God I’m finding him again. I’m ready to reignite my fire. I’m ready to be the wrestler I was meant to be, while being the father and the husband that my family deserves. Now it’s my turn and I’m going to rise. So y’all better watch the hell out. Come on, Heath -- you know better. If that's his wife, then good for him too. I think Keith Lee should have vacated the NA Title after winning in NXT and Slater should have come in and entered a tournament that William Regal says he needs to win in order to get an NXT deal, because "this isn't a charity" or whatever. Slater can win the tournament and have a feel-good moment with a singles belt. Probably triple AEW in the demos. Quote:
