Trying to decide what my favourite funny promo ever is. It was always David Shultz "I was looking for a woman, I couldn't find a woman!" but Brett's El Dandy bit and Shultz ripping Sgt Slaughter and Mean Gene's parents are right up there.

:lol: at WWE's blunder when it came to booking the August 31st date for the next NXT UK TakeOver event.

Seems they booked the date solely to hurt NJPW's UK event on the same day but got fooled big time on the actual ticket sales for NJPW's show. To make things worse, seems they didn't bother to check if any major sporting events were also happening that day and now have to deal with another World Cup type situation happening to their NXT UK brand.

The comparisons between WWE and WCW are pretty uncanny right now.

When I found out Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko publicly blasted WCW while under contract, I just found it so surreal. Raven, Konnan and Sting also make public statements at separate points. It was such a shit-show circus, but now you've got WWE talent publicly wanting out and going on Twitter and talking about how unhappy they are. It's fucking amazing.

AJPW Junior champion Atsushi Aoki has died in a motorcycle accident. Only 41 years old. Fucking hell.

Yeah, very sad.

Random thoughts/lamentations about Asuka:

- Beats Becky Lynch clean at Royal Rumble
- Loses the title pretty quickly, clean to Charlotte
- Becky Lynch wins both titles at WrestleMania

- Instead of coming out and being "in the mix" and being all "I beat you once Becky" or "I want to finally beat you Charlotte"....... she disappears for weeks and comes back as part of an infrequently appearing tag team in an infrequently appearing women's tag division

Sounds similar to last year when she followed up the longest undefeated streak in WWE history by being used to put over Carmella who went on to be a comedy act.

Yeah.... but somehow I always get fooled into thinking someone can "get back on track" and become "relevant again"......

I honestly thought they were all going to be positive things until you get to the end. "Offensive," "out-of-date, "boring" and "unoriginal" all seem to fit the best.

WrestleMania probably should have been Becky vs. Ronda and Asuka vs. Charlotte. Well, the whole period of Asuka after Mania last year probably should have been entirely different.

I'd still prefer that Asuka join up with Charlotte, having been beaten by her for her streak and her belt, instead of teaming with Kairi. Could be a "I can't beat you, so I'm going to ensure you're the top woman in this industry" type of deal. Have Charlotte form her own faction of women that are going to protect her, ala the Four Horsemen. You can do the predictable thing and call them the Four Horsewomen, or you can call them something like "Natural Selection."

If they wanted the Women's Tag Titles off Sasha & Bayley, Nattie & Beth could have beaten them, turned heel and joined Charlotte as well. That's a heel faction I'd have some sort of potential investment in.

It's just not going to happen. I think at this point their jig is up.
